Highlands Plan Conformance
Master Plan, Farmland Preservation, Highlands Planning
Vernon Township, Sussex County, Governing Body and Planning Board
Of Vernon Township’s 70 square miles, nearly 14% are preserved specifically for farmland. The Comprehensive Farmland Preservation Plan sought to identify the Township’s current and future agricultural goals and objectives.
The plan also sought to provide an overview of farming trends in the municipality and County, and provide maps of farmland and agriculturally important natural resources.
Vernon Township’s Land Use Board adopted the Comprehensive Farmland Preservation Plan as an Element of the Township Master Plan. This Plan provides a detailed inventory of the existing farms in the Township.
The Plan will be used in the Township’s planning efforts and decisions related to land preservation, agritourism, and more. The preparation of this plan allows the Township to utilize County and State grants.
We specialize in small to mid-sized municipalties and we’d love to help.
